Cream Tea Wednesday

My Wednesday's have recently become rather special as in the afternoon I go and see a friend and we chat, knit, crochet, sit in the sun, have a cream tea - scone, jam, cream and a cup of tea at 3pm and then go for a walk together. We then have another cup of tea before I head of home at around 6pm. Such a special afternoon together and one I really enjoy. Sadly though just as we have both been able to do this, she is moving in the middle of August and this newly found joy we cease. I'm trying not to dwell on that fact and just enjoy our weekly get together while I can. What a shame we were unable to do this before due to us both having work commitments or more recently ill health, me with my RSD/CRPS and her with ME.

Today was lovely with the sun shining and we were both able to sit outside and enjoy our chatting and crafting.

My friend S, just before we started our afternoon tea.

Zooming in on the goodies, fresh home made scones. :-)

She lives near a park so we have started walking to the park and around the lakes.

I remembered to take my camera with me this time.

Fluffy little goslings

Going for a swim.

I always feel calm and relaxed after my afternoon out.

I believe I can fly

I believe I can fly

I believe I can touch the sky

I think about it every night and day

Spread my wings and fly away.

I believe I can soar
I see me running through that open door.Spread my wings and fly away

I believe I can fly
I believe I can fly
I believe I can fly

(song lyrics by R. Kelly)

Beauty surrounds us.

Hope you had a good weekend.

The rose that was just a bud yesterday burst open into full bloom today. It is very delicately tinged with pink on the edges and creamy white on the petals and smells lovely.

Parcel opening fun today...

A lovely tea set with napkin rings complete with little napkins.

Two pretty aprons.

A couple of chair cushions

A pretty little tablecloth

A lovely appliquéd mat.

Some fun Sasha sized bunting!

All made by a lovely Sasha friend Sue Hanson.

Thank you Sue they are wonderful.

I am sure they are going to have great fun playing with these this weekend.

Orange Glory

Thank you for all your lovely thoughts and comments yesterday, very much appreciated. Still very sore today as well. I have been referred to the UCL Hospital in Queens Square to their Pain Management department, but according to their letter yesterday they have no appointments available for several months yet. Ho hum...

Some pretty photographs for today.

I spied this gorgeous rose that has just flowered in our back garden this morning.

I love the different shades of orange.

Less colourful, but I think once it flowers it will be quite pretty with its hint of pink.

A parcel arrived for today...

Just look at that wonderful packing! Matches my roses.

I'm hoping to get to the post office tomorrow to post all the magazines off to various lucky people.

I think I am still awaiting the address of one person...

Have a lovely evening.

What? I didn't show you what is in the parcel?

A ha, you'll have to be patient and wait until tomorrow. :-)

Fed Up.

Arghhh!

I want to cry like a baby, but these damn tablets stop me, and yet I hurt so much. They do nothing for the pain which currently feels like a hot burning pain under my right arm, down round my ribs, right side, across my shoulders...well you get the picture and I am just so darn fed up with it all.

The ache travels all the way down the arm and my right side feels like it is on fire and I want to detach that side from my body and put it to one side for a while.

Good thing I don't drink otherwise I'd probably be drunk right now.

How does one deal with Chronic Pain I wonder?

Monday Monday

Smooth and sleek

A little bit fluffy

Waiting for Mum.

Feeling your age...?

Parent worn down by feeding or fledgling?

Either way he/she looks how I feel some days!

Flowers on a Sunday

Walking around the garden this morning I was struck by the variety of colours we have. Although I ended up taking predominantly purple photographs. Could I be influenced by what I am wearing today?

Of course this isn't a purple, by a vibrant orange, just what is needed to brighten an overcast day.

Just starting to flower.

Grown by seed taken from sweet peas at my FIL's house over a year ago, they are finally starting to flower - wonderful.

The washing is on the line, I wonder if it will dry before the rain comes? Always optimistic.

I have a couple of guinea pig boutiques to do this morning before they get picked up by their owner this afternoon, so I had better get a move on.

Magazine Giveaway

I've been given a lovely big box of craft magazines, paints etc... and thought I'd share them with my friends as I really can't read them all. So if you would like to receive a magazine or two in the post, let me know which ones and I will either put you in a draw (if more than one person wants the same thing) and then post them out.
