Book Collections and Books Read.
I have been reading since I was very young. At one stage I wouldn't read so Mum and Dad got rid of our
television and a prolific reader was born! The highlight of the week would be to go to Glenfield Library
with my Dad while my Mum did the grocery shopping. Another thing I remember is the scholastic book
club, and I have fond memories of pouring over the catalogue and choosing a special (but small) selection
of books which would then be delivered and handed out several weeks later at school. Many of these
books I still have. Oh the excitement when they arrived! One of the ones I remember is 'Spook, The
Witch's Dog.' I remember one year at school we had to keep a record of all the books we read that year.
I read the most in the class! It is from that idea that my recording books read in 2010 and subsequent
years was born.
