Lavender and Quilting.

A week ago I cut a load of the lavender and have hung bunches in various places to dry. 

A bunch in the hot water cupboard

A couple of bunches hanging from the windows in our Utility room.

Today I managed to get to Saturday quilting group which is held once a month - I missed September as I didn't get the email with the new dates, but I guessed it was probably today so went and fortunately it was.

I took three of my quilts that needed quilting and managed to get all three almost done.  They just need the binding on now.

Before I quilted it.  Now need to find something to bind it with.

I think this is after I quilted it, but you can't tell.  Hoping I have some more strips of the fabrics that I can make up some binding so I can get this finished.

Butterflies & Bees & Apple Trees

Who would have guessed they are not allowed to give paracetamol to a patient with an oncoming migraine/headache at the Pain Clinic?!

So most of my plans for this afternoon were indeed scuppered - will have to work extra hard tomorrow to get things done that I had hoped to do today.

Making the most of what was left of my afternoon....

My patience was rewarded today by the sight of the first butterfly of one of two buddleia I have planted

The apples on the tree are looking good - looking forward to those apple crumbles, apple cakes and everything else yummy you can make with apples!

Roses & Lavender

Another rainy sort of day today - at least in the morning.

I did some sewing today and am looking forward to trying some smocking after dinner.

My new rose, Brother Cadfael, is looking rather splendid.

'Carefree Days' another of my roses is set to bloom.

The bumble bees are out in force on the lavender this afternoon which is good to see.
