Tuesday Tales

So putting aside yesterday, although nursing a mild (is there such a thing?) migraine today as a result, I had a dentist appointment this morning, just a check up and all good.  

I haven't done a lot today, had a snooze, taken paracetamol with no result, cleaned out the guinea pigs, taken Percy for a walk and sat knitting or reading and of course watching the birds first thing this morning.

It was fun to see both a Nuthatch and a Robin on the bird table.  Yes it is a bit dilapidated...but it gives it character!

It was very misty this morning, a sign of the good day to come.  

There were I think three Nuthatches out feeding and one time.

The cobwebs were out in force...the spiders must have been busy during the night.

Later in the afternoon when it had brightened up I was able to get a couple of better shots.

You can tell Autumn is here, the fungi (mushrooms?) are growing in the damp grass...yes it has remained damp all day.

Now I've go to think of what to do for dinner...too much brain power needed for that decision I fear!

Um...I just get on with things like I always do...

I wanna go home...

I'm bored and I wanna go home...to New Zealand - the longing is always there but it is particularly strong at the moment and I keep trying to work out how on earth I could make it possible!  Yup, I'm a dreamer...

So what did you do on Sunday?

A Day of Rest?  Not for me unfortunately.

I'm not sure if this is a plant or a weed, but it came up in one of my pots and has flowered all summer, is pretty so sit stayed.

The pink hydrangea is still looking lovely.

What I call Silver Beet, but what is called Swiss Chard here, is looking scrummy - must pick some to have with dinner tonight

The rhubarb is ready to have with the apples.

Pretty orange to brighten this dull day.

Instead of 'Spring' cleaning I am 'Autumn' cleaning....or maybe I am imaging being in New Zealand where it IS spring!  Anyway I am still blitzing away at the house...this time the kitchen cupboards, in part so I could store my freshly made 12 jars of Plum Jam.

A right mess before - it was pull out and shove back in and hope for the best!

After:  The jam is stored on the top shelf behind the other things (partly hidden from DS2, I hope!)  The top shelf is for supplies and as needed I will bring them down to the second shelf.

My baking cupboard...a right mess!

Much better - now just have to keep DS2 out of it so I can actually bake when I want to and not have to worry about not having the right ingredients.

Incidentally in the clearing out of these two cupboards I ended up with two big black sacks FULL of rubbish and OUT OF DATE supplies - and not just by a few months...but by YEARS!  This TOS and the resulting chronic neuropathic pain has had a real impact over my life...but no more I say!

That is enough for today... a little at a time.  Although this felt like a lot and there are still a few 'loose ends' to tie up!
