Poor Pirate
He has had a rough few days of 'cacking' or coughing...depending on just what you want to call it and can get quite distressed, particularly at night and has ended up in my arms for the last few nights with me calming him down until he relaxes. I have noticed how much more audible his heart murmur has become, particularly during these moments and have been rather concerned over the weekend. We decided to take him to the vets and have come home with some heart medication and some other medication which I am debating on whether or not to give him. He has slept most of the day. I think the indignities of a thorough, and I really do mean a thorough going over inside and out today have worn him out and put him off his food. Hopefully he will be back to eating properly tomorrow. This old guy does worry us and he is such an angel I just hope he can keep on going forever and ever...but know at 15 1/2 years of age his days are probably numbered now.
After a gorgeous sunny morning where the day held lots of promise, the clouds soon came over, the temperature dropped and we got wind and drizzle on and off the rest of the day. I managed to get down to the post office mid afternoon between showers to post some parcels. I ended up coming home with three books (one for a friend), a Vulcan child's toy sewing machine (forgot to take pictures!), and a brand new pair of shoes. I have a few more books to weed out following my 'for every book in, at least one must go' decluttering rule!
The other week our friend was saying he was finding it hard to find a good book to read and I mentioned how much my Dad and I enjoyed reading Daniel Silva and asked him if he wanted to borrow one of mine to see if he would enjoy it. He did so I have been keeping an eye out in the CS for him in case I see any books available. You don't often find these books in the CS so I was pleased to find this one today and will give it to him next time we see them.
In this particular shop it was 'buy one get one free' so I had a look to see if anything else took my fancy. Not really, but the book below looked interesting so I thought I would try it and if not, well would just return it to the CS for them to sell on again!
In another shop I saw this book and thought it looked interesting. Even though I feel I am pretty much over these problems now, I have had them in the past, mainly due to the pain and medication, but I thought it was still worth a read as 'Happiness' can be an elusive thing sometimes, particularly in our society today.
Lastly a good 'score' today was a BRAND NEW pair of sensible comfortable shoes! I have a charity bag with some shoes in already and now know I can add at least another couple of pairs in it now I have these to wear.
The are a dark green colour - difficult to photograph today and normally sell for over £65.00 and I got them for £8.00, complete with the special leather protector polish. I am very pleased with this.
I haven't shown any of the cards for a couple of weeks. I have dipped into these occasionally and thought the ones I drew today were quite fun and appropriate.
'Everything in my life works, now and forevermore' . Well I hope so anyway!
Actually things are working pretty good at the moment. I am obviously still in daily pain (that is something that will probably leave me now) but it is not 'bothering' me like it used to. On a whole I am learning to cope with it pretty well. Last week when I did the big grocery shopping I actually did some very basic meal plans and that is working well and I am enjoying knowing what I am going to be cooking for dinner, instead of leaving it to the last minute! Now the conservatory/utility room is tidy it is a much more user friendly space and I have somewhere to air and dry clothes that can't go in the drier now that it is getting cooler and wetter outside this is needed. Plus the ironing board is always at the ready which make sit easier for doing DS2's shirts on a Monday morning!
Delighted that a butterfly came up today as it is now too cold for them here.
This beauty isn't actually a butterfly, but rather a moth. A Day-Flying Moth Eterusia repleta. They are among the most brightly coloured moths and very easily mistaken for butterflies. The are quite poisnous to predators and their colouration advertises the high concentrations of hydrogen cyanide in their blood...so best not eat! The are not found in many places in the world and this species is confined to Southeast Asia.

Hmm... this is a difficult one. I just loved the front of this card and is illusion to music, clouds and perhaps dreaming about them. Perhaps then this has to do with my music and where I am at the moment, which is...'I just don't know'. I am trying to practice on a regular basis but not really achieving this for some reason. I don't think it is the pain as I haven't really given it a fair go this month to really know for sure. 16 days into September and I have only really practised a handful of times. Why is this? Perhaps because I am following other dreams at the moment? Photography and drawing come to mind. Or is it because I am scared of failure or pain? I really don't know, so will need to think this one out. I still like the card though and would never have guessed what it said on the back. I think I had dreamt up something else completely different...and perhaps something that means more to me!
Now for the Creativity.
This is all about keeping lots of supplies in various places to keep you stimulated...personally I'd rather they were in one place where I know where to find them! I certainly don't want to Stick assorted Day-Glo markers into the Silverware drawer! and the rest of the silly places the card suggests.
Of course it is all a load of nonsense anyway, but sometimes you need a little bit of nonsense and fun in your day!
