Going for a walk in the park

Late this afternoon we took Percy and Pirate for a walk in the park near us.

Lots of interesting sniffs for a little puppy

Nature in all its glory for us to enjoy

Going for a run

Beautiful rhododendrons

More interesting sniffs....

Percy even came across a little person that made him feel quite large!

It was a great 'socialisation' experience for him as well, getting to meet a couple of Labrador  another large dog (name escapes me at the moment) and a Jack Russell who all came and said hello!

The Pain Chronicles, Debt & Daily Doodles.

Way back in September last year I wrote a blog post about debt here

Well I can now say that with determination and a real effort the last month I have finally paid back my debts and have enough left over for a dreamed about trip to the USA to attend the Sasha Festival.

The relief and peace that not owing any money on my credit card brings is amazing and I won't be using it again.  Instead I plan to make and sell things to get my 'spending money'.

Of course it turns out I DID overdo things on Monday as I was very sore yesterday.  It is a bit easier today but a strange thing happened during the night.  I woke with a sharp constant pain in my ear and a burning sensation on my head.  I made an appointment with the GP thinking perhaps I had an ear infection (never having had one before I wasn't really sure what earache felt like).  It turns out my ears and throat are clear.  He said that the pain on my head definitely sounds like nerve pain and possibly the ear is as well - so nothing can be done - just got to wait and see.

He did ask me how I got on with the morphine.... I told him it gave me stomach pains, made me drowsy and VERY irritable so wasn't taking it.

Back to the drawing board, he said he really didn't know what to offer me as we had pretty much tried everything.  I already knew that.  He has given me something I can try 'ad hoc' for when the pain is really bad - which I am happy to try - I just didn't want to take any more constant/daily meds as all the side effects just aren't worth it for the minimal (if any) relief they offer.  So I have now got some OxyNorm to try.  I had to laugh at the name....

So that is the update on the Pain Chronicles.

A couple of daily doodles:

Oh and the other news is that Percy went for his first walk with us and the other two dogs today.

He was very good - I think the encouragement of wanting to keep up with Shadow and Pirate was a big incentive to him :-)

Lots more walks to come.

Just need the weather to clear up for longer than two days!!

A lovely Bank Holiday Monday

It's been a busy kind of day today.

Lots more washing on the line.

I've mowed the lawns (yes I did them!)

Done some weeding, then went for a walk as felt quite sore and stiff after the weeding.

I took Pirate with me and we had a leisurely walk through the fields

The grass was so long, he almost disappeared at one point.

I spotted an orange-tip butterfly and managed to photograph it much to my delight.

Daily Doodles and an old photo.

I am WAY behind in posting my Daily Doodles - have been doing them - just forgetting to photograph them and crop and post them.

Here is Thursday's offering.

Some ideas were formed for supporting the clarinet - but my thoughts veer more towards the bass - it is supported on the floor and my right arm rests on my knee as I play - so at a lower angle AND supported - more of a possibility and certainly worth pursuing further through some daily practice..

My arm and hand were quite sore on Friday though, so had a pretty lazy day.

Friends sent this photo of my son when he was a lot younger!

What a cutie he was!

Another Cruise

My eldest son is off on his second cruise.  He flew out last night to join his ship in Australia.

We are just so proud of him and how far he has come, and so pleased he has found something he really loves to do.  Such a wonderful experience for him.

Of course tears were shed last night at the airport - yes, mine.

It has been so lovely to have him home these last few weeks, I am going to miss him (although not his taste in constant loud music!).

Doesn't he look smart?!

Love you Steven, enjoy your next Cruise!

While home he fixed my bungled attempt to paint his room - I only managed one wall, which he promptly repainted.  He chose the colour scheme, put up the blinds and has done a lovely job of it.
