Photographic Scavenger Hunt - July 2011

It's time for my July Scavenger Hunt photos. To see more click here. While I was editing these, I realised I hadn't posted June's photographs. Not sure what happened there! Maybe I will post them sometime this week.

Sunset and Sewing

Last night when walking home from my MIL's house we saw this amazing sunset. Truly inspiring!

A little sewing has been done today, both for Sasha as shown here and for myself.

I've had several people ask me for the carrot slice recipe. I would like to make it clear that it wasn't my recipe but came from here, where you can download a 7 day Raw Food Challenge Recipe Book.

1/2 cup raisins, soaked for at least 30 minutes

1/2 cup dried apricots, soaked with the raisins

2 cups of walnuts or pecans

2 tbsp pine nuts

1 1/2 cup coconut

1 tbsp cinnamon

1/4 tsp Chinese 5-spice powder

1/2 tsp garam masala

Pinch nutmeg

Pinch clove

6 cups of grated carrot

1 1/2 cup dates.

Place all ingredients in a food processor and process. Firmly pack the mixture into a pan, sprinkle coconut on top and some pecans to decorate if you would like.

I didn't have quite a few of the ingredients - I don't even know what garam masala is - must look it up! But it still tasted good.

No Gooseberries on offer

Yesterday my husband and I went up to his father's house to do some weeding. Well I went to pick the gooseberries, but as predicted, I was too late. I had asked him to pick some several weeks ago, but unfortunately he never got round to it. Did I weed? I think not! Instead I wandered around the garden with 'the boys' and our little dog, taking photographs with my trusty pocket camera, Panasonic DMC-TZ3.

Don't these look just wonderful?

Anyone know what these are? They look a bit like apples, only much smaller and of course the wrong shape.

Well the sun is shining here this morning, and although my arm hurts somewhat I must get on with things so I can enjoy the weather.

Cake, Me & a Rose Garden

Just so you know I am not going without I made this the other day so I could take a slice with me to have for my afternoon 'cream tea' with my friend yesterday.

Carrot slice - all Raw Food ingredients and of course completely RAW.

Tasty? Yes indeed.

As much as I'm not keen on having photographs taken of me, hubby wanted to take some yesterday so I agreed.

Beads, bought over a year ago, top bought the other day, white BN cropped trousers, and a pair of BN fun shoes, all from CS.

It was a lovely day yesterday. Not so sure today is going to be the same, the sun seems to be in hiding.

Most of my roses are in pots, but I'm going to make myself a Rose Garden.

This beautiful orchid was on the coffee table at my friends house.

A full on Quilting Day.

I certainly had a wonderful day yesterday. Early yesterday morning after my morning 'rebound' exercise, I set off to a day's quilting. A full day - I think we arrived at around 9.15am and didn't get home until 10pm! What a fun day though, lots of laughs, good company and productive sewing.

I hoped to get all the Block B's made today for my Jelly Roll quilt that I started last Thursday.

Everyone was working on some really stunning quilts. It was a three day residential, but I could only go for the day, but still definitely worth going.
