Dabbling...

It has been soo hot here today - muggy hot to start with - but I think it improved as the day progressed. Today was a perfect day to get the guinea pigs out on the grass. Their enclosure has become rather overgrown and I think they enjoyed munching and playing hide and seek!

Despite needing to have a couple of snoozes today, I am pleased with what I managed to achieve. Several loads of washing have been washed, hung on the line to dry and are now folded up ready to put away. I've enjoyed finishing one of my books in the garden while partaking in a cup of tea and cake.


I watered the garden and my hanging baskets out the back...must do the front tomorrow!

They are starting to look quite good.

I even tried my hand at painting! Yes siree, I sure did. It is something I have been wanting to try for ages and when I saw this kit in the CS the other week, I thought well why not?

So today I opened it up and was thrilled to see that it had never been used and was complete with all I need to become a budding artist!

So to begin with I just experimented with an 'Abstract' (a fit of nervous giggles inserted here)

Now I being very brave (or rather very stupid) posting a picture of my art work for all blogsville to see...

Hubby said not to give up the day job, DS1 made no comment and DS2 immediately identified it as an abstract... 'underwater' was his interpretation.


I promised I would show my set of Russian Dolls I got in NZ. Well not sure if you can call them dolls exactly as they are birds!

Lastly, my 'norty' computer decided to completely lose all of Outlook yesterday afternoon. All my emails, contact address, everything has gone, vamooshed, never to be seen again. Hubby has spent literally hours trying to recover it but with no success and I am still currently out of email contact. Hopefully tomorrow I will have a 'new' outlook, but will have no addresses :-( so I may be asking my bloggy friends whom I have emailed in the past to either send me an email, or their email address via comments (won't publish if you don't want me to of course). Thank you! I do wonder if it disappeared up the vacuum cleaner as I thought I would vacuum the 'puter yesterday...ooops.

I will never tire of looking out the window to see our lovely maple tree against the back drop of a gorgeous blue sky.

I was up early this morning making cakes for DH's grandmothers funeral today.

The postman was also up early today and I was delighted to receive the lovely Violet Bluebell from Blooming Myrtle. Violet is even more beautiful than her pictures show and she has fitted in right at home already!

Included in the package was a lovely gift from BM as well, a tote bag made in the same fabrics as Violet...

Lots of pockets inside this very thoughtful gift. Thank you so much! I can't wait to use it.
