Well after a cold grey and dismal Saturday, I woke Sunday morning to a glorious day and spent it in the garden. After the winter the vegetable garden boxes, glass house etc...needed some serious attention.
I'm afraid that the garden didn't get touched over the winter...
But it is starting to look a lot better after a days work.
Vegetable boxes weeded and dug over. The strawberry planter tidied up.
The glass house was a right mess.
It hadn't been touched since I gave up on the tomato plants...
What a mess!
Starting to look a lot better now...
Ready for me to start sowing seeds in pots and to decide what I am going to plant in it this year.
Oh, another 'before' picture of the parsnip bed...
Not sure if these will be any good to eat but they look okay and may well roast up good if we are lucky.
Now for a bit of colour.
Lots of plants starting to flower...
I also did some work in the front garden, weeding the little rose bed I have...
Starting to look a lot better now.
The guinea pigs all enjoyed spending the day out in the runs
The dogs went for a walk in the fields and had a jolly good groom.
Shadow really enjoyed his groom as well as rolling around on the grass.

looks like you were productive in the beautiful spring weather. Your garden looks ready to go.

ReplyDeleteI'm not growing tomatoes this year!
I spend lots of money and give lots of care and attention to them, then I get bored and they go like yours, I think I'd rather buy them this year

Your greenhouse has an earth floor I notice. I'm getting a greenhouse in the next few weeks. Are earth floors better, or easier? xx
ReplyDeleteI've loved moving from Autumn in NZ to Spring in England with your photos - and I look forward to your posts about photography. Your photos are already very superior to mine and I could lean a lot from you! Like you, we're doing lots of gardening - Ben and Son 2 sorted the strawberry plants (Son 2's personal gardening project) yesterday and we're looking forward to a good harvest this year...
