Haddenham Dolls House Exhibition and Fair.

Do I really need another hobby?  Probably not, but I am curious...and have some ideas...that are in the planning stage so today took the opportunity to attend the Haddingham Dolls House Exhibition.  I took these photos for a good friend of mine who couldn't attend and am hoping she will enjoy looking at them.

The wonderful interesting stand of Celia from KT Miniatures.

The fantastic displays from Nostalgia in Miniature Workshops which are run by Celia and Robin of Coombe Crafts. These looks like such fun to make that I hope I will be able to attend their next workshop.  

This is Robin's wonderful display of character dolls, furniture and accessories.

I just love these people, they really are wonderful and it was great to see them 'in person'.

Wandering around the hall I was delighted by some of other wonderful displays.  Such talented and imaginative people who are willing to show of their work.

This house was just absolutely amazing and I could have looked at it for hours!

Really loved the stable, it reminded me of my late teens when I worked on a stud farm!

I NEED a bigger house!

This next house was very clever I thought.  It was made from old wood coat hangers, cardboard and papier mache.

You can see where they have used the coat hangers.  What a clever idea!

So do I really need another hobby?  Oh yes!

I had a thoroughly enjoyable morning chatting to some really lovely, friendly and knowledgeable people whose enthusiasm for this hobby was contagious!

Colours of Nature

What a difference yesterday was to today.  Yesterday was a lovely (although admittedly cold) day, the morning especially bright and beautiful.  Percy and I went for our usual walk in the park.

This fun shelf fungi reminded me of a tiered skirt.

These looked like they were taking every opportunity to sprout out of the cracks in the fallen log.

Like little umbrellas providing shelter.

This looks like a fan and reminded me of radiator fins.

The water garden was looking especially beautiful with the reflections in the water.

Pink and orange berries - very pretty.

The beauty of this place is so inspiring.

Talking to a lady at singing group today she told me about an art group she goes to - £5 for three hours AND they get tuition!  I hope to be starting in January and will be looking forward to it.

Blogging and what to do about it!

Trying to work out the best thing to do...

thinking out loud...

Make this blog private and start a new one.  (Cons: Won't be able to use the same blog address which I really like and will have to think up a new one!)

Export all of this blog to another and make that private (Cons: Will lose statistics...eg how many times a post has been read etc...but does that really matter anyway?  Will be time consuming as I will then have to delete over 1000 posts, 50 posts at a time on this blog!)

Leave it as is...(Cons: Not sure I want everything I have written and poured my heart out about over the last few years public anymore...in fact quite sure I don't want to.

Just simply make this private and give up... (Cons: I still want to be able show photos and record things I have made etc...and take part in the odd blogging swap or activity)

Only four piggies now :-(

Sadly one of my lunky boars died last night. (Not the most flattering photo I have of him, but the only one I could find quickly)  I am fairly sure it was due to all the loud bangs from fireworks that seemed to be going off all around us last night.  I wish the sale of them would be restricted and that they were only allowed to be set off on one or two nights only.  This going on for weeks is ridiculous!

So now I only have four remaining.

Lastly a somewhat gross photo - but it intrigued me as this fly is missing its wings!

A walk, some books and treasures.

It was a gorgeous day yesterday as it is again today!

Percy and I went to the park for our walk.  The sun was reflecting through the trees and although it was cold, 4 degrees Celsius when we started our walk, it had warmed up to 11 degrees an hour and a half later.

There is a medieval moat in this park and it was interesting reading about it.  I have been meaning to find it for ages and yesterday we finally did.

Just love the way the sun was shining through here and reflecting on the water.

Recently I have picked up a couple of interesting looking books from the local charity shops and will be looking forward to reading them.

Lovely linen handkerchiefs.  

Not sure if I will keep these as they are or use them to make something with.

Beak the Kiwi followed me home.

This Lundby 1/16th car in excellent condition also came home with me.  I might keep it, or I might sell it on, haven't decided yet.

I was surprised to see this vintage teddy with a growler in amongst the other cheap teddies...he told me his name was Elfrid and could he also come home...well how could I refuse him.

Lastly I have dug out this to get some Christmas Crafting inspiration.

I don't think I have looked through it for a couple of years, so should be a bit of fun.

Still trying to work out how to archive all my posts so they are not lost...
